GADGET-SAVVY Apple fans have found a way to get your iPhone brightness even lower – so you can scroll easier at night.
Sometimes even the lowest iPhone brightness is still too much first thing in the morning.
That’s especially true if you’re looking at a white website or app.
Many apps and sites now offer a Dark Mode feature to reduce this effect – but not all do.
Thankfully an Apple aficionado revealed a clever solution on Reddit.
They revealed that you can reduce the white point for your display, and it only takes a few seconds.
It’s the colour temperature of white that is being displayed – and should mean that the screen appears less intense first thing in the morning.
Just go to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Reduce White Point.
It should make a massive difference to how bright your iPhone screen appears.
Thankfully there are two much faster ways to activate the feature.
One option is to set it up as a toggle in your Control Centre.
You reach the Control Centre by swiping down from the top-right on an iPhone with Face ID, or up from the bottom on models with the Home button.
Then hold some empty space, tap on Add A Control, search for Reduce White Point, and add it as a control.
That way you can then go into Control Centre and quickly tap that new button to achieve the effect.
Another option is to attach it to a triple-click of your iPhone’s Lock button.
Just go to Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut and then add Reduce White Point.

If you find that annoying, you can always reset the button to do something else instead.
For advanced users, you could use Apple’s Shortcuts app to make the feature automated.
So you could have it turn on at 10pm and then switch off at 7am the next day.

Apple fans were impressed by the discovery, and rushed to thank the savvy iPhone whiz on Reddit.
“Omg, thank you! This makes reading in bed so much better. Even at lowest brightness it was too bright,” raved one iPhone owner.
Another Apple fan added: “Easily my favourite discovery on iOS.”

You should also try your iPhone's Dark Mode...
Apple says: “Turn on Dark Mode for a great viewing experience in low-light environments.”
First, go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Dark to activate Dark Mode.
You can also add it to your Control Centre and then turn it on and off from there.
And if you prefer, you can set Dark Mode to turn on automatically.
just go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Automatic.
Then choose Options to set a schedule for Dark Mode.
