The "Irresistible" singer, 44, has been expressing her appreciation for Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner, 54, in recent weeks—and the actor is apparently paying attention.

First, Simpson left a fire emoji on a March 8 Instagram video of Renner working out shirtless in a gym, with Renner liking the comment in response.
Simpson was back to heaping on the praise over the weekend, when she commented on a clip of Renner exercising (shirtless, again) alongside his mother, Valerie Cearley.
“I love this oh my…Mama is STRONG…I need to go do sit ups now,” she wrote.

Nearly all of Renner's posts since late January have earned at least a "like" from Simpson; however, he's also been showing up in Simpson's comment section lately. After she announced her country project last week, Renner showed his support, writing, “Congrats Jess !!! .”
As Page Six reported, Renner and Simpson first sparked romance rumors 15 years ago after they were spotted "flirting up a storm" at a cocktail party.
In a Jan. 14 statement shared with Parade, Simpson confirmed her split from Johnson, saying, "Eric and I have been living separately" while "navigating a painful situation in our marriage."
