Laurence Fox has been charged with a sexual offence after allegedly posting a compromising photograph of a woman on social media.
The charge – brought under section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 – relates to an image posted on social media in April 2024, the Metropolitan Police said.
The actor and commentator is accused of sharing a photo of broadcaster Narinder Kaur as she got out of a taxi in 1996, which was allegedly taken without her knowledge or consent.
Posting about the incident on X last year, Good Morning Britain and GB News presenter Kaur, 52, said it was “unimaginably mortifying”.
Fox, 46, has been charged after a months-long investigation and is due to appear in court in April, the Met said.
If convicted, he faces up to two years in prison and could be put on the Sex Offenders’ Register.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: “A man has been charged with a sexual offence following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
“Laurence Fox, 46, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 24 April charged with an offence contrary to section 66A of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
“The charge relates to an image that was posted on social media platform in April 2024.”
