After undergoing two major foot surgeries on the same foot—the second to address nerve damage from the first—I’ve been left with significant walking difficulties and chronic pain. Adding to this, I suffer from plantar fasciitis in both feet, making extended periods of standing extremely uncomfortable. In my search for pain relief solutions, I discovered the MOUNTRAX foot massager.

    User Experience

The massager is about the size of a bigger shoebox and weighs around seven pounds. I have it sitting next to my recliner for easy access and use it daily. The massager has a 15 and 30-minute timer; I always go for the latter. It has nine customized massage intensities and three modes: Deep Kneading, Air Compression, and Heat. I find that I can use both deep kneading and air compression if the air compression is on the lowest setting. The heat is not as strong as I would like, and this is a bummer as I think that would really help with my particular issue.

You can get the massager in Blue, Gray, Black, and White. Blue would have been my go-to color as it would have matched the walls in my office but I received the black. All the colors look fantastic and you can’t go wrong with whatever one you get. This could be a fantastic gift for anyone who stands on their feet or has foot pain as it’s not super expensive and works great. I really like the design of this little device. It’s very aesthetically clean and even comes with a remote that you can use rather than staying bent over to change settings.

I found that quickly killing the power will release the air from the air compressor quickly if you need to jump up and rush to the door like I had to when FedEx showed up early. I point this out because other devices like this I have tried seem to take their good old time and decompress slowly causing you anxiety as you wait to be able to get your feet out quickly in case of an emergency.

Thanks to the nine intensities, you can find a mode that will work best for your use case scenario. For me, normally I always go full blast but find myself not needing to with the MOUNTRAX. My grandmother, when she was still with us, would have had to go on the lightest mode possible as she had very sensitive feet, and most of the foot massagers that we picked up for her were just too strong. I find that the lowest setting on this one probably would’ve been correct for her.

    Conclusion

The only real downside I mentioned above is the heat. I find that I can’t tell so much when that feature is on. Maybe it’s that I have neuropathy and my feet are always ice cold, but when I used it the other day, I was trying to find something to help with how cold they were, and the heat from the MOUNTRAX was not even close to warming up my toes. So if you are buying a model for the heat factor, this might not be the choice for you. If you are looking for a good massager then you will be happy with it.

Overall this is a pretty solid choice when it comes to foot massagers and I don’t think you would be disappointed with picking one up.
