Nate Oats and his staff have the Alabama men’s basketball program in the perfect spot to land their fourth straight top-10 recruiting class.
After landing forward Zion Green, the Crimson Tide surged to the third-ranked class in the nation behind conference rival LSU and Duke.
Green is rated a 5-star by both ESPN and 247 Sports, ranking inside the top 30 players regardless of position on every major site.
The Philadelphia native stands at 6-foot-9, 190 pounds and he committed to Alabama over the likes of Kansas, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Syracuse.
His ability to get into the paint as well as hit the outside shot at a consistent rate makes him a perfect fit for head coach Nate Oats’ system.

Joining Green in the 2027 class is 6-foot-4 point guard Chase Lumpkin.
Lumpkin is a consensus 4-star who also ranks inside the top 30 on every major website.
The Powder Springs, Georgia native chose the Crimson Tide over Louisville, Michigan, USC, Kentucky and others.
He exploded for 36 points in just 15 minutes at a SLAM exhibition in October, showcasing his outside shot that Oats and his staff will milk in their up-and-down, high-volume three-point shooting offense.
Alabama now has 16 players currently eligible for the 2027 season either on this year’s roster or committed with a maximum of 15. There will be more talent on the hardwood in Tuscaloosa over the next couple of seasons than there ever has been or maybe ever will be.
Losing players, especially really talented ones, is never fun, but the amount of talent Oats and assistant coach Preston Murphy have accumulated makes it one of the best roster construction problems in the nation.
