A ROYAL Navy sailor has been arrested after being accused of “stepping in to break up a fight” with a couple in a foreign country.
Owen Haggerty, 22 has been in a detention centre for more than five months after being arrested in Bahrain on duty.
A court in Bahrain has now given Owen a three-month sentence for the alleged assault.
He was expected to return back to the UK in February after spending four months in the detention centre.
However, the Royal Navy sailor is now expected to be put inside a prison along with other convicts.
Mum Kirsty Reynolds was left with tears when she got a call from a Royal Navy Officer who told hr about the arrest.
