A man’s body was found burned in a grass fire in south Thornton on Sunday night, police officials said.
Adams County Fire Rescue responded to a 20-foot by 20-foot grass fire near Sherman Street and Marigold Drive around 9:27 p.m., spokesperson Julie Browman said.
As firefighters were extinguishing the fire, they discovered a body and called police, according to the Thornton Police Department.
The body was badly burned, but there were no other obvious signs of trauma, police officials said Monday.
The Adams County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s name, as well as the cause and manner of death. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Thornton Fire Department.
