A police officer was injured in a crash when their car went into the side of a building in National City on Thursday morning.
The crash took place at around 5 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of National City Blvd., when a pedestrian reportedly ran in front of the officer’s path, prompting the driver to swerve out of the way into a parked car, an electrical box, and a building.
The officer, whose name was not released, suffered minor injuries, according to the National City Police Department.
Northbound National City Blvd. was temporarily closed after the accident while San Diego Gas & Electric came out to investigate and cut the power.
The amount of property damage done were not immediately clear. There were no further updates about the pedestrian.
