A quarter century later, Rick Springfield is still dealing with something that happened in the year 2000.
The "Jessie’s Girl” singer, 75, discovered he has brain damage from when he fell from a stage in Las Vegas that year.

"I fell 25 feet, hit my head and then wood came down and hit my head, and then my head hit the stage again," he recently revealed to People. "I thought I had just broken my wrist, but on the scan I found out I have some brain damage from the fall, so I'm working on trying to repair that."
He discovered the issue after a recent Prenuvo whole-body MRI scan, noting that some people "don't want to know what's wrong with them," but he's the "opposite."
"My dad died from not wanting to know," he told the outlet. "He thought he had stomach cancer for years and never got it checked out. When he finally collapsed one day at home, they found out it was an ulcer that burst, and he died from the loss of blood. It could have been fixed if he had gotten it checked out."
"That was a giant message to me: If you want to live long, you have to be prepared for some bad news now and then," he added. "I could find out I have terminal cancer tomorrow and be dead in a year, but I can only do all I can do."
Springfield told People that “in my head” he still feels like he’s in his 20s, but “then I see people dying from old age and disease and go, ‘Wow, I’m the same age as old people!’"
He’s trying to slow down the aging process by exercising every day, watching his diet and limiting his alcohol consumption.
“I’ve cut way back,” he recently told the Los Angeles Times. “I don’t drink most of the time during the week. I used to drink all the time. I wouldn’t say I never drink; when we’re on stage, I’ll have a martini and I’ll loosen it up. But at home, I don’t drink anymore.”
