Regan Smith and Kate Douglass both kept their doubles in which they’re #1 seeds (100 fly/100 back for Smith, 200 breast/50 free for Douglass).
Trenton Julian, who chose not to compete in last night’s finals, will be back in action in both the 100 fly and the 200 IM. He will face tough competition in both events, including #1 seeds Shane Casas and Carson Foster respectively.
Only one swimmer scratched from an A-final: Aaron Shackell in the 100 fly. The Carmel Swim Club Olympian will end his weekend early, as this was his only event of the day. His scratch gave 19-year-old Caleb Carlisle his first A-final berth of the weekend.
Fellow Olympian Penny Oleksiak will also sit out of the 100 fly, in which she earned the 10th seed this morning. The Canadian will be going all in on the 50 freestyle to cap off her meet.
