In reality, it's 100% over for Trudeau without any wiggle room. On Sunday, the Liberal Party picks a new leader and Trudeau isn't on the ballot. That will be the end of that and the winner of that contest (very likely Mark Carney) will be the next Prime Minister in very short order and certainly by March 24 when parliament will reconvene.
Surely someone has explained this to Trump but he might be angling for some kind of claim that he pushed Trudeau out.
