LATHROP – A Central Valley community is getting its first Chick-fil-A.
People were lined up early Thursday morning for the grand opening of the new fast food restaurant on Golden Valley Parkway.
The eatery officially opened at 6:30 a.m. Emily Martin, a Sacramento native, will be the owner-operator of the restaurant.
Chick-fil-A corporate says the new restaurant brings about 140 jobs to Lathrop.
To celebrate the opening, 100 local heroes will be getting free Chick-fil-A for a year. The fast food company is also donating $25,000 to Feeding America in support of Second Harvest of the Greater Valley.
