DENVER (KDVR) -- A high school in Douglas County south of Parker is evacuating after officials received a report of a suspicious device.
Douglas County sheriff's deputies are at Ponderosa High School, part of Douglas County School District, looking into the report. A Douglas County Sheriff's Office spokesperson confirmed to FOX31 the school is being evacuated.
A Douglas County School District spokesperson said the school is not on lockdown since the building has been evacuated. During an evacuation, students and staff are moved a safe distance away from the school but still on school grounds while officials investigate.
The sheriff's office also posted on X a bomb dog and deputies are searching inside the school.
Ponderosa High School is in unincorporated Douglas County in a community called The Pinery.
