Old Navy just launched a new line of activewear made from buttery fabric that could be perfect for your upcoming warm(er) weather movement plans. The biker shorts in this collection are so similar to styles by Athleta and Free People that are over three times the price.
Old Navy’s High-Waisted StudioSmooth Biker Shorts just dropped as a part of their StudioSmooth line on Feb. 25 and they’re already on sale for $20 (they were originally $26.99). These have a 6-inch inseam and a high elastic waistband that sits at the belly button. These are made with a go-dry, moisture-wicking material that’s breathable and fitted.

High-Waisted StudioSmooth Biker Shorts, 6-inch Inseam, $20 (originally $26.99) at Old Navy

Again, these shorts are part of Old Navy’s new StudioSmooth activewear line. In an email to Parade, reps for Old Navy shared that this new collection is “three years in the making” and was tested to last through your favorite workouts.
This new fabric is made up of 82% nylon and 18% spandex with a “buttery-soft” feel to it while still offering “light compression.” These shorts currently come in the colors Dusk Navy and Black Jack, but there might be more in the future to match the bra tops they have in this line as well.

Salutation Stash High Rise 7 Short, $69 at Athleta

As we mentioned up top, these Old Navy biker shorts are similar to Athleta’s Salutation Stash High Rise 7 Short, which are $69. Athleta doesn’t have 6-inch inseam shorts, so between the 5-inch inseam shorts and the 7-inch ones, these are very similar. These shorts are made for yoga or “studio practice” and are made with a “buttery soft” fabric. This is Powervita fabric, which is made up of 75% nylon and 25% lycra, which is similar to Old Navy’s blend.
Athleta’s Transcend High Rise 5 Short is also made from this fabric, giving them a similar feel to Old Navy’s as well. They’re $59 and have nearly the same design as the StudioSmooth biker shorts as well as the Salutation ones. They’re just shorter.

Never Better 7" Bike Pocket Shorts, $58 at Free People

And lastly, there’s Free People’s Never Better 7" Bike Pocket Shorts, which are currently $58. These are sold in their FP Movement collection of activewear and have basically the same design as Old Navy’s. This one is an inch longer, with a 7-inch inseam, and has a pocket, which is a nice touch.
