(KRON) -- Two of the biggest icons in music are headed for the Bay Area this year. Billie Joel and Stevie Nicks will co-headline a special one-night appearance at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on Saturday, Oct. 4, the venue announced Thursday.
"These two iconic musicians will perform their most beloved songs from their illustrious careers," the venue said. "The show promises to be an unforgettable evening of live music, marking Joel's first performance in the Bay Area in ten years."
The show will also be a debut for both artists at the venue.
Singer/songwriter/composer Joel is the sixth bestselling recording artist of all time and the fourth-bestselling solo artist, having sold more than 160 million records worldwide. He is known for a string of blockbuster hits that include "Piano Man," "It's Still Rock and Roll To Me," and "We Didn't Start the Fire."
Nicks, who went to high school in the Bay Area and attended San Jose State, rose to prominence as frontwoman for Fleetwood Mac. She was an integral part of the band's iconic "Rumors" album, which was largely recorded at the Record Plant in Sausalito. Also a highly successful solo artist, Nicks is the first woman to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice.
Tickets for the concert go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 7.
