Jimenez posted a 2.81 ERA, 30.1% strikeout rate, and 7.2% walk rate over 125 innings out of Atlanta’s bullpen in 2023-24, and the Braves inked him to a three-year, $26MM extension just before Jimenez entered the free agent market in November 2023.
His knee problems made a wash of the last two years of that deal, and Jimenez will be a free agent this winter as he approaches his age-32 season. Jimenez will surely have to settle for a minor league deal given his two lost seasons, though his past track record will make him a target for several teams looking for inexpensive bullpen help.
