The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who has recently become the subject of retirement speculation, has confirmed that he'll return for another go on the field this upcoming season, marking his 13th year in the league—and bringing him equal to the impressive length of time brother Jason Kelce spent playing before retiring from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kelce announced his decision on the latest episode of Pat McAfee's self-title ESPN show, telling the host that he can't let the Chiefs' abominable Super Bowl performance this year be his last. “I’m coming back, for sure," he said, detailing his efforts this offseason to "get to the best shape I’ve been...and get back to the mountaintop."
"Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle," he explained. "I can’t go out like that!”
