HARLEY-DAVIDSON has gotten rid of a beloved old model to make way for a completely new design.
Riders have slammed the replacement bike, calling it “ugly” and “cheap-looking.”
In January, the motorcycle manufacturer announced that its 2024 Ultra Limited model had been discontinued, as stated on its website.
Instead, the company is introducing an all-new model, called the 2025 Street Glide Ultra.
Harley-Davidson dropped photos of the replacement bike on their Facebook page, but their followers weren’t stoked about the new design.
“That is one ugly motorcycle Harley has gone crazy with their cheap looking new designs they no longer have the reputation for first class classy built,” a social media user commented.
The Harley-Davidson store replied to the comment, joking, “Mark, do you feel better? Get it all out. Come on. Get it all out. You’ll feel better.”
Another Facebook user said something “doesn’t look right” about the model.
“Maybe it’s the angles of the pictures but something is just off with them,” they said.
Harley-Davidson said the Street Glide Ultra will have upgraded lower fairings — a big selling point for motorcycle riders.
Lower fairings protect a rider’s legs from harsh weather conditions like wind, rain, and debris.
They can also affect a rider’s comfort and performance.
“The adjustable vents have a much more premium feeling lever and the way they incorporate into the bike is great,” the company said.
“Plus, they offer additional storage and can accommodate new LED fog lights and highway pegs as an accessory.”
The new model also offers a bigger luggage rack, meaning more storage for riders.
Not only that, the 2025 model offers 130 ft/lbs of torque compared to the 122 ft/lbs produced by the 2024 Ultra Limited.
What are the new and refreshed Harley-Davidson motorcycles for 2025?
The lineup of all-new 2025 models includes:
The Street Glide Ultra for long-haul touring and the Pan America 1250 ST dynamic adventure sport motorcycle.
Harley-Davidson has also revamped six iconic Cruiser models for 2025: the Low Rider S; Low Rider ST; Breakout; Heritage Classic; Fat Boy and Street Bob.
The brand’s Sportster S has also been upgraded.
A collection of limited-production Custom Vehicle Operation (CVO) motorcycles includes four models: CVO Street Glide; CVO Road Glide; CVO Road Glide ST; and CVO Pan America.
The bike maker said the new models complete the collection of 2025 Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring, Cruiser, Sport, Adventure Touring and Trike motorcycles.
The new bike is 51 lbs lighter than the 2024 Ultra Limited, according to Harley-Davidson’s website.
In February, the motorcycle company announced that drivers will have one last opportunity to purchase a 2024 Ultra Limited.
They made the announcement on X.
“The 2024 Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited is being discontinued!” the tweet read.
“We’ve got the LAST FOUR at American Eagle Harley-Davidson. Take a free test ride or two and don’t miss your chance to own this iconic touring machine!”
Harley-Davidson did not immediately reply to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
