UFC Fight Night is back on Saturday night, headlined by former UFC champion Henry Cejudo facing 27-year-old Song Yadong in a main card bantamweight showdown at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.
That fight will pit the 38-year-old Cejudo, previously a world champion in the flyweight and bantamweight classifications, against Song, who holds a 21-8-1 career record but hasn’t fought since a loss to Petr Yan last March.
That match is one of five total on the main card, which will be preceded by seven fights on the preliminary card.
Quite a few bets have been placed ahead of what should be an exciting Fight Night. Here are the six most popular bets for Saturday night’s UFC event at BetMGM.
The headlining fight (duh!)
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the most bet fight ahead of Saturday night’s event is the main card headliner between Cejudo and Song. While 78% of all bets placed are on Cejudo (+220), 62% of the money is on Song (-275). Song opened as the favorite and the moneyline has moved further in his favor since. As we’ll get to, there’s also a popular prop bet favoring Song.
Nick Klein by submission (+1400)
Klein opened with the odds stacked pretty heavily against him as he tries to hand Mansur Abdul-Malik his first professional loss. Klein opened at +475, which later ballooned to +800, but betters see value in his submission prop. Klein has a 6-1-0 record himself, and he’s won via submission in each of his last three fights.
Eric McConico by decision (+550)
McConico is a slight underdog against Nursulton Ruziboev, who is 34-9-1 all-time. However, seven of Ruziboev’s nine career losses have come via a decision, and though McConico has only won via decision twice in his career, it’s the night’s second most popular prop. Sixty percent of bets and 59% of the money is currently on McConico, as well.
Song Yadong by decision (+125)
While 78% of bets are on Cejudo to win the headliner, the majority of the money is on Song, the favorite. He has fairly high odds of winning by a decision, which is among the night’s more popular prop bets. Nine of his 21 career wins came by decision.
Melsik Baghdasaryan by KO/TKO/DQ (+1100)
Baghdasaryan is quite the knockout artist. He boasts an 8-2 career record with six of those wins being KOs or TKOs. He is a hefty underdog against Jean Silva, who has a 14-2 record and is a knockout specialist himself, in the featherweight match. Silva has 11 wins via knockout but has never been knocked out, hence the long odds here. But bettors believe Baghdasaryan has the chance to pull off the upset.
Jean Silva by KO/TKO/DQ (-120)
While it’s not quite as popular, likely given the minus odds, many also expect Silva to win via KO or TKO, instead. Given his track record, which features wins by TKO in three of his last four fights, it certainly makes sense.
