YOLO COUNTY – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in the Yolo County community of Esparto over the weekend, authorities say.
California Highway Patrol says, a little after 2 a.m. Sunday, officers responded near Highway 16 and Parker Place to investigate reports of a crash.
There, officers found that an SUV and motorcycle had been involved.
The motorcycle rider died in the crash, but exactly what led up to the incident is under investigation. Officers believe the motorcyclist was driving behind the SUV just before the crash.
Authorities have not released the name of the motorcyclist.
Esparto is about 15 miles west of the city of Woodland.
