CARMICHAEL – A man in his 30s died after running a red light and crashing with another vehicle in Carmichael on Saturday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.
The CHP said the crash happened at the intersection of Manzanita Avenue and Madison Avenue.
Officers said the man in his 30s was driving a sedan west on Madison when he ran a red light. This was when a van traveling north on Manzanita Avenue crashed into the left side of the sedan.
The driver of the sedan died, the CHP said. He has not been identified.
The driver of the van, a man in his 20s, was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
