SAN JOSE – San Jose Barracuda forward Thomas Bordeleau was suspended for one game by the AHL’s Player Safety Committee on Friday for his cross-check on an opponent in a road game against the Colorado Eagles earlier this week.
At the 16:21 mark of the first period of Wednesday’s game in Colorado, Bordeleau was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct for cross-checking an Eagles player. The Barracuda allowed one goal during the Eagles’ five-minute power play and lost 5-2 as Colorado swept the two-game series in Loveland.
Bordeleau will serve the suspension on Saturday when the Barracuda (24-16-2-3) play at Bakersfield. Bordeleau, a second-round pick of the Sharks in 2020, is fifth on the Barracuda with 25 points in 37 games this season.
The Barracuda are 1-3-1 this month and enter Saturday in fifth place in the AHL’s Pacific Division with 53 points.
