THE TRAITORS has earned a significant following since its surprising debut in 2022, when it went on to become one of the UK’s most popular reality shows.
Now fans eager to test their own skills have been given a golden opportunity ahead of season four.
BBC bosses have announced that the application window for the fourth series has been extended, so hopeful contestants now have until March 28 to throw their hats into the ring for a chance to take part.
A casting advert from the BBC reads: “The Traitors is a competition series built on strategy, suspicion and deception.
“A team of players will compete in a series of missions to build the prize pot, but hidden among them are the Traitors, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithful while remaining undetected.”
For those keen to join, the application process requires entrants to register with their email and provide details such as name, date of birth, and occupation.
One of the most interesting parts of the form is the choice between being a Faithful or a Traitor.
Applicants are asked to outline their reasoning and potential strategy for winning the game.
Potential players will also face a series of personal questions, including the biggest lie they’ve ever told, whether they’re good at keeping secrets, and what their biggest kept secret is.
They’ll even need to submit a one-minute long video introducing themselves and detailing their game plan.
The show’s executive producer Mike Cotton previously shared insights into the type of contestants they are looking for, making it quite clear that fame-seekers should not apply.
He explained: “We’re actively looking for people who have a passion for playing that game and might come to it with a strategy.
“But we’re also looking for people who bring something unique from their own lives, whether that’s a past job, a skillset, or a life experience.”
Mike added: “You don’t have to be the smartest, the prettiest, or the strongest to win this game – it’s all about how you play.”
Filming for the fourth series is expected to take place in spring or summer next year, and contestants need to be available for up to four weeks.
