SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- An approaching atmospheric river storm is set to bring excessive rainfall, possible flooding, and strong, damaging winds to the Bay Area, according to the National Weather Service. The storm arrives Wednesday night and is expected to bring rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches in the North Bay and 1.5 to 3.5 inches across the greater Bay Area.
San Francisco, which received record rainfall in last week's storm, could receive 2 to 3 inches.
A flood watch has been issued for Marin, Monterey, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Sonoma, Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara and Napa counties through Saturday night.
A high wind warning has also been issued with southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph possible and gusts of up to 60 mph.
The brunt of the storm is expected to arrive Thursday.
