SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO — Police here made a bombshell discovery on Wednesday morning: more than 5,000 pounds of fireworks found in a storage unit, authorities said.
Police responded to a call at 10 a.m. that there was “a large amount of dangerous fireworks” in a storage unit at a facility on Oyster Point Boulevard, officials said.
The haul is valued at more than $300,000, police said. The South San Francisco Fire Department and San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad helped collect and store the fireworks.
