A MISSING woman who vanished in freezing temperatures has been found dead.
Leah Bellitto’s body was discovered in some water in East Amherst, New York, just days after she disappeared without a trace.
The cause and manner of her death are under investigation, according to cops.
Police have revealed there are no signs of foul play at this stage of the probe.
Cops revealed that Bellitto left her home on Saturday when temperatures plunged to a bone-chilling 25F.
She was last seen in the neighborhood of Ransom Oaks and was wearing black pajama pants at the time.
Bellitto was wearing a blue flower-pattern backpack at the time of her disappearance.
A search effort was launched and around 50 people were involved.
Hours before Bellitto’s body was found, volunteers spotted barefoot prints and handprints near a creek, as reported by the ABC affiliate WKBW-TV.
Volunteers also spotted one of her gloves on the ground underneath a highway overpass.
Tom Chiaramonte, who was part of the search effort, came across a flower patterned backpack near his home.
He didn’t think the bag was anything unusual until a neighbor told him during the Super Bowl that a woman in the area was missing.
Friends issued gut-wrenching pleas online while the search effort was ongoing.
“Another morning goes by, and our beautiful, sweet Leah girl is still gone,” her pal Hannah Davis said.
“Leah is the kindest soul. She has a unique gift of making everyone around her feel seen, heard, and unconditionally loved.
“She would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation, even someone who is a complete stranger.”
Bellitto was a student at the private Catholic girls school Nardin Academy.
She graduated in 2015 and the school shared a statement following her death.
“Our thoughts are with them all,” the school said.
