COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- A crane accident has led to the closure of Interstate 70 Sunday night.
According to Columbus police dispatchers, I-70 East is closed at I-71 South due to a crane hitting electrical wires. The exits affected are SR-315 South to I-70 East and I-71 South to I-70 West. Dispatchers said the roadway is likely closed until noon on Monday.
One person was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
Police believe the accident happened at Fulton and Short streets and the highway is closed so crews can repair power lines over the highway.
It is not known how long the roadway will be closed. Traffic has been diverted from I-70 East to I-71 South.
