Serena Williams shared a video on social media on Sunday, Feb. 9, in which she reflected on her surprise cameo at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Kendrick Lamar, who headlined this year’s performance at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, La., invited the former tennis pro to join him onstage during his performance of his Grammy Award-winning song “Not Like Us.” Her appearance came near the end of Lamar’s set, which also featured performances of other hits like “squabble up,” “peekaboo,” “tv off” and “HUMBLE.”

As seen in video footage that the NFL later posted on X, formerly Twitter, Williams, 43, danced along to the music while wearing a white tank top, blue skirt and blue jacket. She matched Lamar, who also wore blue for his performance.

Williams also posted another video on X of herself backstage at the show, grooving along to the music. In her caption for the post, she revealed that she “died a little” by the opportunity to join in on the fun.
