Rohit Sharma, in the last few months, has not been able to lead from the front like he did in most of his captaincy career. The senior opener has experienced a massive decline in his form, and this has raised a lot of questions about his place in the team.
Recently, there were reports that claimed that Rohit Sharma might even opt out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 owing to his poor form. It was learned that if batter fails to score runs in the last two games of the ODI series against England then he will make himself unavailable for the tournament.
It was also reported that if Rohit Sharma pulls out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 then Hardik Pandya will be named as captain. The all-rounder was the vice-captain of the team in the ICC World Cup 2023 and also the ICC T20 World 2024 before he was removed from the leadership group.
