San Diego City Council member Stephen Whitburn is holding a fire safety town hall to inform the community on how to stay safe during wildfire season.
In the wake of last month’s Los Angeles wildfires – and mindful of past major fires in San Diego – Whitburn is teaming up with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department for the town hall at the Balboa Park Club Ballroom.
The topics that will be covered include current fire safety protocols and budget priorities for fire prevention, emergency preparedness strategies and brush abatement programs.
Additional materials on staying safe during wildfire season are available at the city’s website under “District 3 Fire Preparedness Information.“
The town hall is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Balboa Park Club Ballroom, 2150 Pan American W Road. Those who plan on attending are asked to RSVP.
