POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.

GRAFFITI: Caller at Vinewood Park reported graffiti at 8:31 a.m. Feb. 3. An officer took a report.

    SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: Caller in the 100 block of Gibson Street reported at 9:11 a.m. Feb. 3 thinking that someone hacked her computer. The caller refused to speak to an officer; no further action taken.

    SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES: Caller in the 500 block of Empire Drive reported at 10:50 a.m. Feb. 3 that someone hacked his email. Information taken/provided.

    FRAUD: Caller on North School Street reported a “fraud that occurred a year ago.” An officer took a report.

    DISTURBANCE: Caller at the corner of Talmage Road and Airport Park Boulevard reported at 12:39 p.m. Feb. 3 that a man was yelling at people and acting suspiciously. An officer responded, the man was “warned and advised to leave.”

    LOITERING: Caller in the 900 block of South State Street reported at 2:13 p.m. Feb. 3 that people with shopping carts were loitering in front of a business. An officer responded and the group was “contacted and advised.”

    TRESPASSING: Caller in the 1200 block of Airport Park Boulevard reported an “ongoing trespassing issue.” An officer responded and cited a 44-year-old man for violating city code and his probation.

    CAMPING: Caller in the 700 block of South State Street reported at 3:23 p.m. Feb. 3 that someone was camping at the location. An officer responded and reported that the person left upon request.

    SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Caller in the 200 block of North Orchard Avenue reported at 3:36 p.m. that a woman was acting suspiciously. An officer responded and she was “contacted and advised.”

    911 HANGUP: A 911 call was placed and yelling heard before it was hung-up at 4:22 p.m. in the 700 block of North Oak Street. An officer checked the area but found no one and no concerns.

    WOMAN YELLING: Caller in the 400 block of South Orchard Avenue reported at 4:41 p.m. Feb. 3 that a woman was yelling. An officer responded but she was gone.

    VEHICLE INTO TREE: An officer responded to the 300 block of Talmage Road for a report of a vehicle into a tree at 8 p.m. Feb. 3 and arrested Jozey J. Gieck, 22, of Ukiah, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. She was booked into Mendocino County Jail and the vehicle stored.

    SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Caller at Safeway on South State Street reported at 4:45 a.m. Feb. 4 that a suspicious man was in the parking lot. An officer responded and arrested a 41-year-old Ukiah man for being drunk in public and violating his parole. He was booked into county jail.

    SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Caller in the 300 block of East Gobbi Street reported at 7:26  a.m. Feb. 4 that a suspicious person was there. An officer responded and arrested a 41-year-old Ukiah man for being drunk in public. He was booked into county jail.

    PARKING COMPLAINT: Citizen at the Ukiah Library in the 100 block of North Main Street called at 11:48 a.m. Feb. 4 with a “question about the No Parking signs.” A voicemail was left for the caller.

    DRUGS AT SKATE PARK: Caller in the 1000 block of Low Gap Road reported at 12:06 p.m. Feb. 4 that “juveniles with drugs” were at the Ukiah Skate Park. An officer at the location contacted school security and reported that the school would handle.

    ROBBERY: Caller at Cherry Street and the Rail Trail reported at 2:37 a.m. Feb. 5 that a robbery had occurred. An officer checked the area but the suspect was gone. He took a report and noted “follow-up was to be conducted.”

    911 HANGUP: A 911 call was placed and hung up in the 600 block of Grove Avenue at 8:49 a.m. Feb. 5 with a “woman in the background heard stating that she needs help.” An officer responded and took a report for “use of restraints.”

    BURGLARY: Caller in the 200 block of East Perkins Street reported a burglary at 9:49 a.m. Feb. 5. An officer responded and took a report.

    DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of South State Street at 1:08 p.m. Feb. 5 and arrested Cherral A. Mitchell, 41, of Ukiah, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. She was booked into county jail.

    The following were compiled from reports prepared by the UPD regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department.

    GRAFFITI: Caller in the 400 block of North Whipple Street reported graffiti at 5:57 a.m. Feb. 3. An officer took a report.

    GRAFFITI: Caller in the 100 block of Minnesota Avenue reported graffiti at 8:23 a.m. Feb. 3. An officer took a report.

    DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 18000 block of North Highway 1 at 10:49 p.m. Feb. 3 and arrested Angela Ariaz, 40, of undisclosed city, on suspicion of driving under the influence and resisting. She was cited and released and the vehicle towed.

    Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper.
