Let’s not be bullied by our president
President Donald Trump is creating the chaos that he is renowned for. While I was in the Army in the early ’70s, I had the opportunity to visit Bavaria and the castle of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Ludwig was removed from power and accused of being insane. Afterward, he was found drowned. His death was ruled a suicide, but rumors remain.
When I reflect on the behavior of Donld Trump, I see a parallel with his behavior and that of Mad Ludwig. Ludwig’s obsession with opulence is in line with Mar-a-Lago in Florida. Ludwig’s unwillingness to listen to his advisers is mysteriously like Donald Trump’s dogmatist aura. The president is sometimes overbearing when addressing his agenda. Why are there so many executive orders? Manic behavior and quick decisions are not in the best interest of the Congress or the citizens of America.
Time for reflection and assimilation are necessary to allow a nation to move forward with confidence and trust. Delusional policies, once passed, may be irreversible, leaving the average American bearing the consequences of poor leadership.
Finally, are the president’s actions for his followers or for all Americans? Less than half the country voted for him. Let us not be bullied by our own president. We need time to process.

Thanks to Mary Young, Yadira Caraveo
I am writing this letter to thank Mary Young and Yadira Caraveo for their amazing public service to our state.
Both women worked for the betterment of all of us, not just the billionaires that now threaten our democracy. They fought for the people they represented with maturity, experience and devotion. I am hopeful that Ryan Gonzalez is up to the task of following in Mary’s footsteps, which are substantial. As far as Gabe Evans goes, he should have lost the election simply by the way he ran his campaign by falsely accusing Ms. Caraveo of the entirety of the fentanyl problem. What a ridiculous premise taken right out of Trump’s playbook.
I shouldn’t be surprised that Northern Colorado did not appreciate the work of Ms. Young and Ms. Caraveo because carpetbagger Lauren Boebert won without a sniff of the legislative history owned by those two women. My fellow citizens, please pay better attention to the candidates in the next election, do your due diligence and ignore the outrageous lies that are perpetrated in the political ads.
