KANSAS City Chiefs boss Clark Hunt was questioned over Andy Reid retirement rumors.
And the Chiefs chairman and CEO sent a clear message about his hall of fame coach.
Reid, 66, will coach his sixth Super Bowl and fifth with Kansas City this weekend.
He also led his opponents this weekend the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl during his time coaching there.
He is one of the greatest coaches in history but recently acknowledged he’s not getting younger.
Like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, speculation has also been mounting over Reid’s future.
But chairman Hunt has no doubt Reid will be back in 2025.
“I know for a fact he’s going to be back next year,” Hunt declared.
“But I think Andy loves what he’s doing, and he’s going to do it for a long time.
“I was always surprised when I heard those rumors because I know how much fun Andy’s having.
“You know, he’s in a lot of ways, I think, just rejuvenated by the success the team’s had.
“Certainly he’s matched with the quarterback that’s a perfect complement for him in Patrick Mahomes.
“And I know he loves what he’s doing. I’m glad we haven’t heard any of those rumors this year.”
Reid has also addressed retirement rumors once again this week after arriving in New Orleans, Louisiana.
“Yes, I’ll be back,” Reid said.
“I’m enjoying what I’m doing.”
Reid is fourth all-time among NFL head coaches with the most wins on 301.
Only Don Shula (347), Bill Belichick (333) and George Halas (324) are ahead of him.
But Reid insisted, “That’s not part of it.
“I just enjoy teaching. I don’t get caught up much in the stats or the records.
“I enjoy being around the guys. I enjoy football, the game.
“You can’t put in the hours we do and not enjoy it. I love the game.”
