The hour-long broadcast begins at 4 p.m. MT/5 p.m. CT with Abbott's speech. It will be followed by a response from the Texas Democratic Party and a roundtable with members of the legislature and Nexstar reporters.

Abbott is expected to outline "emergency issues" he wants lawmakers to focus on this legislative session.
