SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- An approaching atmospheric river looks set to bring potentially significant rainfall to the Bay Area beginning Friday and lasting through the weekend. The National Weather Service expressed increasing confidents of the system's impact across the North Bay, in particular.

Beginning Friday, probability of precipitation forecasts are highest in places like Cloverdale, Santa Rosa, and Napa. However, that probability will become more widespread Sunday and early next week, the NWS said.
The North Bay will see the greatest totals with well over 2 inches of rainfall forecast in many northern counties, according to KRON4 Meteorologist John Shrable. Rainfall further sound will be "much lighter," Shrable said.
