Georgetown High classes canceled as police investigate bomb threat

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Wednesday classes were canceled at Georgetown High School, according to the Georgetown Independent School District, as police investigated a bomb threat at the campus.

According to a post on Facebook, police said no one was allowed inside the high school until the investigation was done.

    Georgetown ISD said entrances to the campus were blocked. The district said it got a call Wednesday morning from police about the threat.

    Police said they will release more information as it becomes available, but for now, they're asking people to avoid the area. Georgetown ISD said this includes staff and students.

    In an update, the district said students were diverted to secure locations, and reunification was happening. All parents were notified, according to Georgetown ISD.
