According to a new report from former CNN journalist Oliver Darcy, another major player at CNN may be departing the network in the wake of its major daily line-up shift.
According to Darcy's Status newsletter, which focuses on the media and tech industries, Jim Acosta indicated plans to leave the news network over the weekend, just days after it was announced that multiple anchors would be taking on new roles in different time slots.

When news broke that Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown would soon move to the 10 a.m. slot—previously occupied by Acosta—updated programming was not provided for the chief domestic correspondent.
Per Status, Acosta was reportedly offered a graveyard news shift in exchange, which would have taken place from midnight to 2 a.m. EST, pitching it as an opportunity to move to Los Angeles and anchor during primetime on the West Coast.
A network insider suggested to Fox News that Acosta "struggled with the choice," while another expressed disappointment in his reported decision to leave.
"Many viewers like Jim… if there is anyone who could make the overnight go it's him," they said. "It's sad to see him go."
The original shifts were said to be the result of decreasing primetime viewership in the streaming era, in addition to other popular on-air personalities leaving the network.
The network also intends to lay off about 6% of its workforce and launch a new subscription-based streaming option allowing users to access content without needing a Max subscription.
