— Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) January 28, 2025One of the primary reasons for the King to return to domestic red-ball cricket is to improve his problems with outside off-stump which cost him his wicket on all eight occasions in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Besides, his form over the last four years in Tests has been miserable, seeing his average dip below 50 for the first time in his career. Kohli’s last Ranji Trophy match was against Uttar Pradesh in Ghaziabad’s Mohan Nagar in 2012.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant – who played in DEL vs SAU – has opted out of the match against Railways. The southpaw only managed to score 1 and 17 in two innings as he returned to the tournament after a gap of seven years.
