OAKLAND — A 49-year-old man died Sunday morning after his car collided with another vehicle in West Oakland, authorities said.
The name of the man killed has not yet been released pending notification of his family.

Initial reports from police were that the Volvo failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and was hit by a Mitsubishi Montero SUV that was traveling eastbound on West Grand Avenue..
The 49-year-old man was taken to a hospital where he later died.
The SUV driver, an Oakland man, was not injured. He remained at the scene and was cooperating with traffic investigators.
Police said it is not yet known if drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.
