CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- One person was hospitalized during a fire in northwest Charlotte, according to the Charlotte Fire Department,
Around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, crews responded to the 1000 block of Fern Avenue and saw heavy smoke when they arrived. Officials said the blaze was controlled in 10 minutes, however, one person was taken to a local hospital with injuries.
Shortly after, around 1:20 p.m., crews responded to a house fire on the 3000 block of Westwinds Court which is also in northwest Charlotte, about 8.5 miles from the fire on Fern Ave. Officials have not released any other details about this incident.
Investigators are still working to determine the causes of each fire, CFD says.
