This is Us’ Sterling K. Brown shared an update on his former costars Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia after they both lost their respective homes in the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this month.
told Extra on Thursday, January 23, that he had checked in on Moore and Ventimiglia after news broke that their houses went up in flames.
“Talked to Milo, talked to Mandy. Talked to them both. It’s difficult,” Brown, who played Randall Pearson on the show, told the outlet. “They’re just very much in the midst of all of it. It’s one day at a time.”
Jarah Mariano’s Malibu home was among the thousands destroyed by the fires.

This Is Us character, Jack Pearson, died from smoke inhalation after the family home burned down in fictional scenes.
CBS News on January 9, “You know, it’s not lost on me, life imitating art.”
The actor, who watched his home burn down via security footage, told the outlet the loss was “heavy.”
“You start thinking about all the memories in different parts of the house and what not and then you see your neighbor’s houses and everything kind of around and your heart just breaks,” he said.
