ExpandThe day was about teaching “athleticism, perseverance and teamwork,” but also, one thing was on the line: Bragging rights.
The Buena Park School District hosted its Superintendent’s Soccer Cup on Saturday at the Buena Park High stadium with teams representing the third-, fourth- and fifth-grade classes at each of the district’s five campuses.
Each grade at each campus fielded a team of 12 players through tryouts and the teams battled it out tournament style throughout the afternoon.
All the players received a medal and trophies went home with the winning teams at each grade level.
Emery Elementary teams took the win in the third and fourth grade contests and the Whitaker fifth-grades won.
