SACRAMENTO – One person was found dead in a house fire in the South Natomas area of Sacramento early Thursday morning, firefighters said.
The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the 3600 block of Rio Loma Way around 12:45 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the first and second floors of a house.
Firefighters said the firefight was difficult due to the amount of fire throughout the house.
One person was found dead, firefighters said. The victim has not been identified.
The fire was contained to the house and did not spread to nearby buildings. However, there is extensive damage to the first and second floors.
The cause is under investigation.
