THE Bachelor star Matt James has publicly announced his breakup with Rachael Kirkconnell.
Fans are totally shocked by the announcement after the couple were seemingly been enjoying a date together just hours before the news broke.
“Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts.
“Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding,” James, 33, penned in an Instagram post.
He added: “Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us.
“And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord,” complete with a broken heart emoji.
Just hours before the shock announcement, the couple were on a date together.
Matt and Rachael met while filming season 25 of The Bachelor in September 2020.
The season, which aired in January 2021, marked the beginning of the couple’s public romance playing out.
On the show, Matt was the first Black Bachelor in the show’s history.
And Rachael was a 24-year-old graphic designer at the time, from Georgia.
Although they didn’t get engaged on the finale, the couple remained together until now.
