The Jacksonville Jaguars will interview Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive coordinator Kellen Moore for their head coaching opening, according to Albert Breer.
Moore was one of 10 candidates that the Jaguars requested to interview, and Breer has now confirmed that Moore accepted the request and will interview on Friday.
This is Moore’s first season as the Eagles’ offensive coordinator. Before that, he was the LA Chargers offensive coordinator in 2023, and the Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator from 2019-2022.
As a former NFL quarterback, Moore jumped right into coaching after retiring, spending one season as the Dallas quarterbacks coach before taking over as the offensive coordinator.
With a litany of playmakers on the Eagles’ offense, the Philadelphia offense ranked seventh this season in points per game and 11th in yards per play.
In his one season with the Chargers, Los Angeles ranked 21st in points and 16th in yards per play.
During an interview with the Chargers team site during his tenure there, Moore noted that is system has taken “bits and pieces” from other coaches that he’s worked under. His offense is also built around the players’ skill sets and molded to what they do well to put them in positions to be successful.
“Our whole goal from an outside perspective is to make it look as confusing as possible,” said Moore. “And at the end of the day, it’s pretty simple for us. It’s a lot of the same concepts, it’s a lot of ways of doing the same things.”
