Bhubaneswar: BJD President and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Odisha Assembly, Naveen Patnaik on Saturday met the family members of deceased police mitra Sahadev Nayak.
LoP Naveen extended both financial and moral support to the bereaved family of Sahadev Nayak, who was brutally killed by the miscreants in the capital city in the early morning of January 8.
Naveen provided financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to the bereaved family and announced that he would bear the study expenses of the two daughters of the slain police mitra.
Sahadeb, who was also the president of sweepers’ association in the capital city, used to raise his voice against drugs. He was brutally murdered on the Rasulgarh road overbridge on Jan 8.
The BJD supremo strongly condemned the incident and said that his party will continue the fight until the Sahadev’s family gets justice.
Earlier, the BJD demanded a judicial probe into the murder of Sahadev Nayak.
