DENVER (KDVR) — An Aurora man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he saw a suspicious vehicle outside his home and was shot shortly thereafter.
According to the Aurora Police Department, the shooting occurred at about 6:52 p.m. on Thursday in the 20000 block of East 62nd Drive.
The area is part of The Grove at High Point neighborhood and is located across 64th Avenue from the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center.
Police said the man walked outside his house and "observed a suspicious red sedan." That's when the victim was shot by an "unknown person," according to Aurora officers. It's unclear if the shooter was inside the vehicle.
The man was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries sustained in the shooting. No one was in custody as of 8:15 p.m.
