FAMILY members of the Menendez brothers will meet with the new Los Angeles district attorney weeks ahead of the convicted double murderers’ resentencing hearing.
The coalition, which will include 20 family members of Lyle and Erik Menendez, plans to discuss with District Attorney Nathan Hochman the “immense personal growth” the brothers have developed over the last 35 years.
Lyle and Erik have been serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole after being convicted of murdering their parents, Kitty and Jose, with a pair of shotguns in their Beverly Hills home on August 20, 1989.
However, nearly three decades since the brothers were convicted of first-degree murder in 1996, the case of Lyle and Erik has gained renewed interest following the release of a pair of Netflix docu-series.
