For the fifth time this season, a San Diego State women’s basketball player has won a Mountain West weekly award. This time around, it’s Adryana Quezada who earned the conference Player of the Week award.
Nat Martinez and Naomi Panganiban each won the Freshman of the Week award twice already this season.
Quezada, a native of Frisco, Texas, helped the Aztecs beat Boise State Sunday in a battle of double-digit win Mountain West teams, after she scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds in 22 minutes of action.
Quezada currently leads the team with 11.1 points per game, as well as field goal percentage (54.3%).
The Aztecs hope Quezada will continue to lead the charge as 2025 brings on more conference opponents, including when New Mexico travels to southern California on Saturday.
The Lobos are 2-0 in conference play, and they lead the conference in field goal percentage at 44.3% and rebounds per game (39.3).
SDSU is coming off a loss to Colorado State 67-56 Wednesday, and they will hope to lean on their award winning players to get back on the winning track.
SDSU vs. New Mexico tips off Saturday at 1 p.m. PST.
