THE $1.128 billion Mega Millions jackpot has been collected almost nine months after the winning numbers were announced.
The sum, which is the fifth-largest Mega Millions jackpot ever, was claimed by a single person in New Jersey on Monday.
The lucky lotto player claimed the prize three months before the ticket was set to expire.
The $1 billion ticket was drawn on March 26 at a ShopRite in Monmouth County, about 49 miles east of Trenton.
